Dear Members,
The croquet lawn has been scarified and seeded but, due to the unseasonal overnight temperatures in April, it needs more time to recover and Andrew Harrison, the general manager, would like to re-open it on 1 June. This is the probable date to be confirmed later.
The committee have agreed, however, that we should formally open the club for the 2021 season on Thursday, 3 June and combine this with a BYO, from 5pm This will go ahead whether the lawn is open or not so please put this date in your diaries and bring your favourite drinks, nibbles and chair together with appropriate clothing for the weather. We are allowed groups of 30 people socialising outside so hopefully we can have a full house!
I hope you are all fit and well, have had your vaccinations and are looking forward to lots of croquet this summer.
Best wishes,
Roger
