The Playoff for the Letability Trophy as the completion of the competitions is as follows:
Paul Thomas v Robbie Norris (Paul T 7-1 7-2) by August 14th The winner to play Richard Wood by September 1st. (Richard W beat Paul T 8/8- 5/7, 8/8- 6/7.) The winner of that has to play Nigel Balchin by September 15th. Nigel beat Richard 6-7 7-6 7-5.
Janet Salter v Trevor Charlton ( Janet 6/6-7/9, 6/6-5/9) by August 21st, with the winner to play Clive Moncrieff (Clive 7/7-4/7 7/7-3/7) by September 8th.
The final will be between Nigel v Clive. Nigel bear Clive 8/8-3/6, 8/8-4/6.
Regional final is at Camerton & Peasedown on 2 August. National Finals on 5/6 September at Watford. Nigel Balchin qualified for the national final as joint winner.
CqE Tournament Regulations
COMPLETE AND INCOMPLETE BLOCKS (ADVANTAGE GC).
- This regulation applies to Advantage GC Play.
- Players are placed in descending order of the number of matches they have won.
- If there are two or more players with the same number of match wins, placings shall be decided as follows:
- Only in the case of best-of-3 or best-of-5 matches, the group of players shall be separated by the net games in all their matches in the block.
- For any group of players still tied, players shall be placed in descending order of their net scoring fraction percentage across all the games they played in the block. The player’s net scoring fraction percentage is calculated as the sum of their scoring fraction percentages (see Regulation L7) minus the sum of their opponents’ scoring fraction percentages.
- Any group of players still tied shall be separated by the number of matches won in the matches played between those players. (See Appendix 4 for a worked example.)
- Only in the case of best-of-3 or best-of-5 matches, any group of players still tied shall be separated by the net games in the matches between those players. If this produces a partial resolution then the group or groups of players still needing to be separated shall be placed by returning to step 4C.
- For any group of players still tied, players are placed in descending order of their net scoring fraction percentage across all the games they played between each of these players. A player’s net scoring fraction percentage is calculated as the sum of their scoring fraction percentages (see Regulation L7) minus the sum of their opponents’ scoring fraction percentages.
- If there still a tie that needs to be resolved, Regulation M2(c)(6) shall be applied.
