Lepton Croquet Club was formed in 2010 by Margaret Wood and Hazel Wadsworth. We set up a Croquet lawn on a childs Football pitch in the centre of Lepton. After struggling for 5 years with poor quality grass we approached Kirklees council asking for a better site. We were offered a little used Bowling Green and accepted it immeadiately. The lawn is Crown Green, which is not ideal, however it is much better than we had been using. After moving in 2016 we quickly incresed our numbers and now have about 30 members playing regularly. We can have 16 on a full lawn at any one time, which makes for very social and interesting playing.
